Hey, who am i? My name is Laura, i’m the creator of Dogobees Eco Hairdressers.

Hands up who heard the name and thought what an odd name, bet you haven’t forgotten it though have you? I’m not going to take the credit here, yes it’s an unusual name but were not bonkers, there is logic to the madness. After an excited chat over a few glasses of wine, my husband blurted it out, “dogobees”. I repeated it a few times and it suck. Why not name your salon after beagles and bees? These dogs are most commonly used during the testing of cosmetic products, they are always happy to see you so it eases the guilt of the scientists, poor puppers. The second part of the name doesn’t need explaining, we all know the importance of bees in the world, they are the most important creatures in the world, without them our eco system would collapse.

My background
The hairdressing industry has had my obsession for 18 years. During that time I have had the pleasure of working for and alongside some of the best hairdressers in the industry. I spent 10 years gaining key skills in all aspects of hairdressing in my home town of Whitby before spreading my wings to London. I have always craved more knowledge, hairdressing is an industry that is constantly changing and I couldn’t be happier. There are always new people to teach you, techniques to master and new products to blow our creative minds . When i moved to london i spent most of my time managing salons, hoping to mould the young minds of today and exchanging knowledge with some truly inspirational minds. Hairdressing on oxford street, tottenham court road and managing in chelsea had its trials but even though times have been hard at times, it’s helped make me the passionate hairdresser i am today.

A clear vision for the salon.
The hairdressing industry is ridiculously wasteful and it’s so unnecessary. There are so many ways to help slow down global warming and because it’s a little more expensive people are choosing to ignore it. I want Dogobees to not only change that but inspire and support other hairdressers and salons to do what they can. Every little helps. I also want a space where any person can come and be them selves, all out prices are gender neutral and the salon is none judgmental.
